GAINESVILLE -- The Chestatee girls soccer team shook off a sluggish start to beat West Hall 5-0 Wednesday at War Eagle Stadium.
After a scoreless first half, the Lady War Eagles (8-4) exploded for five goals in the final 40 minutes.
Sadie Foote set up Taylor Buffington with a through pass and the junior forward broke past the Lady Spartans defense and ripped a shot to notch the first goal just 11 seconds into the second half. Eight minutes later Samantha Addington shot a free kick from 40-yards out striking a defender and inadvertently causing an own goal.
Foote added a goal of her own goal in the 25th minute. Stacey Mendoza and Megan Dew finished the scoring for Chestatee.
Tyler Bennett recorded the shutout in goal with three saves.
