JEFFERSON -- The Jefferson baseball team maintained its spot atop Region 8-AAA after sweeping a double header over East Jackson at home Saturday.
The Dragons (12-2, 8-1 Region 8-AAA) took Game 1 14-1, in five innings and then completed the sweep with a 10-0 win in six innings in Game 2.
Ethan Garner got the win on the mound in Game 1 allowing just one hit and striking out five in four innings. Taylor Wilkes and Jake Franklin each had two hits and two RBI and Will Breese had two hits and three RBI to lead the Jefferson offense.
Wilkes earned the win in Game 2 for the Dragons going the distance scattering three hits and fanning eight. Garner added three hits and four RBI in the second game. Franklin, Zack Boobas, and Micah Carpenter each had two hits and Christian Hutch had two RBI for the Dragons.
Jefferson next will travel to Hart County on Tuesday in Region 8-AAA action.
