Tennis: Chestatee sweeps Stephens Co.

GAINESVILLE -- Both the Chestatee tennis teams took big Region 8-AAAA victories on Tuesday at home.

The boys improved to (5-2, 4-2 Region 8-AAAA) with a 5-0 sweep of Stephens County while the Lady War Eagles improved to (3-4, 3-3 Region 8-AAAA) with a 4-1 win over the Lady Indians.

For the boys, Tyler Burgess, Reed Johnson, and all got wins in singles play.In doubles, Logan Gruenenfelder and Fletcher Siegfried and Hasten Haynes and Rhett Watson too victories.

For the girls, Haley King, Grace Brown, and Natalie McNitt got singles wins. The doubles team of Paulina Manriquez and Holly Baxter also got a win for the Lady War Eagles.

Stehens County got its only win at No. 1 doubles.
