GAINESVILLE - Chestatee High Athletic Director Ben Corley announced Tuesday that Julie Rushing recently announced her resignation as the girls volleyball coach.
Rushing came to Chestatee in 2009 from Chattahoochee High in Fulton County.
During her six-year tenure as head coach, the Lady War Eagles made three consecutive trips to the state playoff, including the first in school history in 2012.
Chestatee posted its best season in 2013 with a trip to the Elite 8. Rushing also was named Area Coach of the Year that season. Her overall career mark was 86-141.
No word yet on when Chestatee will announce her replacement.
