Traffic shift planned Tuesday as part of Cleveland Bypass construction

By Dean Dyer, WRWH
CLEVELAND - Georgia Department of Transportation has announced a traffic shift on State Route 115 at Tesnatee Valley Gap Road west of Cleveland on Tuesday, if weather permits.

GDOT spokeswoman Teri Pope said the left turning lane at Tesnatee Valley Gap Road will be removed and about 500 feet of the SR 115 westbound passing lane approaching Tesnatee Valley Gap Road will be removed so crews can work in those lanes. The highway will be reduced to one lane in each direction at Tesnatee Valley Gap Road.

According to Pope, crews will install a 72-inch drainage pipe under State Route 115 as part of the building of the new intersection for Phase One of the Cleveland Bypass.

Pope urges motorists to use extra caution as they travel through the work zone while traffic becomes familiar with the changes.
