UNG's Huffman voted to Daktronics/Division II All-Region Team

By Staff reports
University of North Georgia senior Stephanie Huffman was named to the 2014-15 Daktronics/Division II Conference Commissioners Association Women's Basketball All-Region Team for the Southeast region.

Huffman, the co-Peach Belt Conference Player of the Year and first team All-PBC selection, averaged 20 points and 8.1 rebounds per game en route to leading North Georgia to its second consecutive 20-win season.

The senior guard from Woodstock, Ga., is currently eighth on the PBC's All-Time career scoring list with 1,653 points. She has also amassed 871 career rebounds, tied for ninth on the PBC list.

Huffman, named a Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-American (second team) earlier this year, finished her career by scoring in double figures in 39 consecutive games and is the only player in PBC history to have 1500 points, 800 rebounds, 350 assists and 100 steals.

Joining Huffman on the first team is Peach Belt co-Player of the Year selection Meredith Mitchell (Columbus St.), All-SAC first team selections Camille Glymph (Mars Hill) and Chantal Dunbar (Wingate), and Conference Carolinas Defensive Player of the Year Alicia Brookins (Limestone).

CSU's Mitchell was named the region's Player of the Year.

Sports information directors from NCAA Division II Southeast Region schools and conferences selected the two Daktronics All-Region teams. The process concludes with All-American selections announced later in the month.

The team is sponsored by Daktronics, Inc., an acknowledged world leader in scoring, timing and programmable display systems for virtually every sport at every level of competition. The team is voted on by the NCAA Division II members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (D2SIDA).
