TOCCOA -- The Chestatee girls secured their second Area 8-AAAA win with a 5-0 shutout of Stephens County on the road Friday night.
In the opening minutes, Taylor Buffington forced an own goal out of the Lady Indians (1-4-0, 1-3-0 Area 8-AAAA) with a hard shot on goal that was deflected into the goal by a defender.
After a sluggish 25 minutes, Buffington was able to set up Sadie Foote with a cross for a 2-0 lead just before half.
Buffington found the back of the net in the first five minutes of the second half on a breakaway and Foote added a header one minute later. Megan Dew finished off the scoring with her own break away goal with eight minutes remaining.
Tyler Bennett recorded the shutout for Chestatee (3-2-0, and 2-0-0) saving all four shots she faced.
Chestatee next will play host Madison County on Friday.
