BUFORD -- The Buford tennis teams swept Chestatee Tuesday in Region 8-AAAA at the Buford High courts.
The Lady Wolves whipped Chestatee girls 5-0 without dropping a set. Meanwhile, the Buford boys took a narrow 3-2 win.
In the girls match, Annalea Stevens defeated Haley King 6-2, 6-1; Bailey McCammon defeated Grace Brown 6-0, 6-3; and, Mariajose Ferreyros defeated Natalie McNitt 6-0, 6-0 in singles action. In doubles, Abbey Mitchell and Savannah Whaley beat Ireland Stackhouse and Maddie Myers 6-1, 6-0 and Peyton Wolfe and Katie Quinn defeated Holly Baxter and Paulina Manriquez 6-0, 6-1.
For the boys, Chestatee's Tyler Burgess defeated Buford's Dalton Counts 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles. In ghe otherv two singles matches, Buford's Cameron Deloach beat Hasten Haynes 6-0, 6-0 and Kurt Knudsen defeated Barron King 6-1, 6-0.
In the doubles, Chestatee's Reed Johnson and Hunter Creamer beat Truett Adams/Matthew McGuigan 6-1, 6-4 at No. 1 while BUford's Garrett Jordan and Caleb Harris defeated Austin Passmore and Logan Gruenenfelder 7-6, 7-5.
