JOHNS CREEK, Ga. (AP) Authorities say a woman has been killed in a house fire in the Atlanta suburb of Johns Creek.
The blaze happened around 6 a.m. Monday in the Summer Trace subdivision.
Johns Creek Fire Chief Jeff Hogan said the blaze began in the living room of the split-level house.
City officials said in a statement that two dogs also perished in the blaze.
Authorities say the house was engulfed by fire when fire trucks arrived at 6:02 a.m. Monday. Hogan tells WXIA-TV that firefighters had to climb ladders and enter the house through a window at the top of the garage to battle the fire from above.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
