Fire destroys boat near Flowery Branch

By Ken Stanford Contributing Editor
FLOWERY BRANCH - A fire late Saturday night destroyed a boat at Aqualand Marina near Flowery Branch.

Hall County Fire Services spokesman Scott Cagle says no one was on the boat at the time of the fire.

"(The) boat was almost fully involved upon our arrival," Cagle said. "(The) fire is believed to have possibly started in the engine compartment based upon bystanders' report and owner's statement."

He added that the boat sank at its slip before it could be removed.

Cagle said it was valued at about $30,000.
