Soccer: Branch sweeps past Cedar Shoals in 8-AAAAA openers

FLOWERY BRANCH -- The Flowery Branch soccer teams swept past Cedar Shoals Thursday night in a pair of Area 8-AAAAA matches at Falcons Field.

For the girls, Laura Zwald recorded a hat trick to lead Lady Falcons to a 7-0 win while Rajji Laresh had two goals to lead the boys to a 4-1 victory.

The Lady Falcons (2-2, 1-0 Area 8-AAAAA) also got goals from Morgan Wadsworth, Madeline McCarthy, Rachel Cohn, and Allyson Lusco. Bailey Lester and Halie Windish each had one assist for Flowery Branch.

In the boys match, Elias Araya added a goal and two assists and Luke Biasi had one goal and one assist for the Falcons.
Next game tonight at FBHS against East Hall

Both teams will be in action Friday night playing host to East Hall in non-area action.
