BUFORD - A house in Buford was damaged by an early morning fire Friday.
Fire department spokesman Tommy Rutledge says the call came in shortly after midnight from a passerby who spotted the fire in the 4500 block of Thompson Mill Road. Rutledge says the passerby stopped and banged on the door to alert anyone inside.
"On arrival, crews found flames showing from the front-right corner of a single-story wood frame house on a slab. The fire appears to have started on the outside of the home and extended inside a bedroom via the exterior wall."
Rutledge said the fire was contained to the one room but sent smoke throughout the house. The cause of the fire has not been determined. There was a working smoke alarm in the house.
Rutledge says three adults - one of whom suffered an arm injury while getting out of the house - will be temporarily displaced due to the damage. The injured victim was taken to a hospital for treatment.
