GAINESVILLE -- The Riverside Military Academy lacrosse team got its first win of the season with an 11-3 victory over Gainesville Wednesday.
The Eagles (1-3) fot four goals from Brandon Grant and three from Ethan Cobb. Bryant Schouest added a pair of goals and Mackenzie MacGruer and Mahlik Faulk had one each for RMA.
Gainesville actually took a 1-0 lead in the first quarter but Riverside responded with a pair of goals from Cobb and MacGruer just 37 seconds apart to take the lead 2-1. The Red Elephants would tie the game at 2 just 25 seconds later.
The Eagles exploded for five goals in the second quarter to take a 7-2 lead into halftime. Schouest and Cobb had two goals apiece in the quarter made it 3-2 (8:30).
Grant scored his second goal of the to make it a six-goal run before Gainesville cut it to 8-3. Grant would score two more times in the third quarter to push the lead to 10-3. Faulk closed out the scoring in the fourth quarter.
The Eagles next will play host to Riverwood on Tuesday.
