Rotary Club of Gainesville donates books to schools

GAINESVILLE - In celebration of National Read Across America Day (March 2), the Gainesville Rotary Club donated books to schools and participated in Read Aloud sessions for the Pre-K students in Gainesville-Hall County Pre-K classes at the Butler Center and Gainesville's Pre-K classes at New Holland.

Each center received four books for classroom reading and 125 "First Readers" from the Scholastic Company for Pre-K students and their parents.

In addition, ten editions of "The Poppy Lady: Moina Belle Michael and Her Tribute to Veterans," by Barbara Elizabeth Walsh, were donated to ten elementary school libraries in Gainesville and Hall County.
