Baseball: North Hall stuns AAAAAA North Forsyth

By staff reports
LAWRENCEVILLE -- Corbin Lewallen tossed a complete-game three-hitter to help North Hall shock Class AAAAAA North Forsyth 2-0 Saturday at Cool Ray Field.

Lewallen fanned seven and needed just 76 pitches and the Trojans (2-0) did not allow a Raiders runner past first base the entire game.

North Hall jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead in the top of the first when Taber Mongero walked and later scored on a wild pitch. It stayed that way until the seventh when the Trojans added a huge run when Folwer Brooks walked and moved around to third before scoring on a perfect suicide-squeeze executed by Matthew Cox.

North Hall was limited to just two hits by the Raiders pitching staff, one each by Aaron Miles and Micah Strickland.

North Forsyth (0-1-1) used five pitchers to toss a two-hitter. Georgia-signee Matthew Heard started and went two innings and took the loss for the Raiders allowing one run on one hit and fanning four. Andrew Grogan and Jacob Cherry each went one inning and Dakota Chalmers, another Georgia-signee, went two innings and struck out five. Cory Campbell pitched the final inning for North Forsyth.
