ATLANTA (AP) -- Forecasters are warning of the potential for sleet and freezing drizzle in parts of north Georgia.
The National Weather Service on Sunday issued a winter weather advisory for 19 northern counties, including the cities of Rome, Cartersville, Dalton, Dahlonega, Dawsonville and Blairsville. (See link below.)
Forecasters say the wintry mix is expected late Sunday night and into Monday morning. They say that sleet is expected to mix with rain at times initially. Then, temperatures will fall below freezing in parts of the area, allowing for a glaze of ice on elevated surfaces.
