BUFORD -- When they needed it most, the Buford girls basketball team went back to its bread-and-butter.
After Westover used a 7-0 run to close out the third quarter to pull within 32-31, Buford coach Gene Durden dialed up the half-court defensive pressure and held the Lady Patriots to just three fourth quarter points as the Lady Wolves pulled away for a tougher-than-it-looked 46-34 win Friday night in the second round of the Class AAAA playoffs.
