Man charged in Toccoa drug, weapons bust

TOCCOA - A man has been charged with cocaine distribution and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon after a search warrant at a home in Toccoa.<br /> <br /> According to a press release from Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office Special Agent Mitchell Posey authorities from the DEO, the Stephens County Sheriff's Office and the Georgia Department of Corrections K-9 Unit executed the warrant at the residence on Emily Street in Toccoa on Friday. The search led to the arrest of 46-year-old Robert Bryant, who was reportedly selling cocaine from the house but living in a different residence.<br /> <br /> The search also yielded a semi-automatic handgun, with another being found at a third location on Edwards Street. Authorities also found some military items including a kevlar helmet, which were given to the U.S. Army Criminal Investigative Division.<br /> <br /> Bryant is being held at the Stephens County Sheriff's Office. The warrant was the result of a three-month investigation.
