After the long haul to Florida, Ty Majeski will be able to bring a trophy back home.<br />

The 20-year old from Seymour, Wis., made a late pass on Garrett Jones Saturday to win the 35-lap Super Late Model feature on the second night of the 49th Annual World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing at New Smyrna Speedway in New Smyrna Beach, Fla..<br />
<br />
"It's awesome to come down here and drive 24 hours and represent the midwest," Majeski said. "There's a ton of great racers up there and this ones for all those guys up there."<br />
<br />
Majeski started ninth after being second fastest in qualifying and the invert of the top 10 for the feature. He used the low line to slice his way to the front and get to Jones by lap 25.<br />
<br />
"I don't know if the guys were spinning the tires or what, but I was getting really good restarts and got good runs," said Majeski. "And in these 35-lap races, you've really got to go and take every opportunity you've got."<br />
<br />
After five laps of battling side-by-side - with Jones maintaining the slim lead - Majeski was able to slide past him into the lead.<br />
<br />
"I got up front and started running down the leader," Majeski. "He was real tight in (turns) 1 and 2 and I could get underneath him, but it was real tough to pass. I guess I would have expected him to do the same to me. We made a little contact and (it was) just short track racing.<br />
<br />
"I just tried to keep being methodical about it and tried to be as clean as possible. I had to use him up just a little bit -- nothing too dirty or anything. It was an awesome race and hopefully the fans enjoyed it."<br />
<br />
"Me and Ty were side by side for a while there," Said Jones, who settled for second. "We were holding our own on the outside. We made a little contact in turn 1 - he roughed me up a bit and got by me. He was definitely by far the fastest car tonight and I was just glad to be racing up front. I think we'll get us one before the end of the World Series."<br />

Paul Schafer, Jr. finished third, followed by Joey Mucciacciaro and Steve Wallace.<br />
<br />
Bobby Wilberg, Natalie Decker, Austin Nason, NASCAR K&N Pro Series East driver Dave Garbo, Jr. and Zane Smith rounded out the top 10.<br />
<br />
Sixteen-year-old Decker, also from Wisconsin, will drive for the NASCAR Drive for Diversity program in a NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Late Model for Rev Racing. K&N Pro Series East driver Rico Abreu finished 12th.<br />

After winning Friday, Harrison Burton's chances ended early with a flat left tire on lap 3. The 14-year old son of former NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Jeff Burton finished 26th.<br />

Ryan Preece and Spencer Davis were both back in victory lane after losing their wins in post-race technical inspections Friday night.<br />
<br />
Preece took the lead from Chuck Hossfeld with six to go in the 35-lap feature to earn his first Tour-Type Modified win at New Smyrna since 2008. J.R. Bertuccio Jr was third, followed by Justin Bonsignore and Jimmy Zacharias.<br />

"Chucky was real strong there at the end," Preece said. "We had some forward bite. We were real good last night. Tonight we where just a tick off. We'll be back on Monday and see what we can do."<br />
<br />
Davis, from Dawsonville, Ga., took the lead back from Tyler Thomas with three laps to go in the 35-lap Pro Late Model feature. The two-time NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Vermont champion Todd Stone finished third. Sheldon Creed and Michael Lira rounded out the top-five.<br />
<br />
Cameron Ray won his first ever World Series 35-lap Florida Modified race after a wreck took out the top three leaders Kevyn Terry, Jerry Symons and Tank Tucker. Michael Burns won the 50-lap Joey Coulter Pro Truck Series race. Robbie Yoakam earned the win in the 40-lap Mini Stock feature.<br />

The World Series continues on Sunday and runs through Saturday, Feb. 21. Sunday's schedule includes the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East season opener, The Hart To Heart Breast Cancer Foundation 150.<br />
