Region 6-AAAAAA: N. Forsyth girls advance to state with win over Hab Central

ALPHARETTA -- The North Forsyth girls rolled into the Class AAAAAA state playoffs Tuesday night with a 60-40 win over Habersham Central in the quarterfinals of the Region 6-AAAAAA Tournament at Chattahoochee High School.<br />

Caroline Bowns continued her torrid pace of late pouring in 32 points, including hitting 13-of-14 free throws, to go with eight rebounds to lead the Lady Raiders (23-3).<br />
<br />
The Lady Raiders again did it with defense holding Habersham Central (14-13) to just 13 first half points and just 21 points through the first three quarters. They held Habersham to just 8-for-35 shooting (23 percent) for the game. <br />
<br />
North Forsyth, behind Bowns, built a 27-13 at the half and then extended the lead to 44-21 heading into the fourth quarter.<br />

Lochlain Corliss added 10 points, four assists, and three steals for North Forsyth <br />
<br />
Jalen Davis and Lainey Gosnell each had 11 points for Habersham Central.
