GAINESVILLE - Some key dates associated with the March 17 Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) referendum in Hall County are fast-approaching, including the last day to register to vote.

County Director of Elections Director Charlottee Sosebee says Feb. 17 is the final day to register to vote and that absentee ballots will be available the following Friday, Feb. 20.

Sosebee says a written request is required for all ballots but you do not have to give a reason for applying for an absentee ballot. Applications are available in the elections office and on the county website (see first link below).

She added that Advance Voting will begin Feb. 23 and continue through March 13 at the elections office in the Hall County Government Center from 8:00-5:00 each day, Monday-Friday.

Sosebee says sample ballots are available by mail, in the elections office and on the county website. Sample ballots and voter information are also available on the Georgia Secretary of State's website. (See second link below.)
