3 Hall Co. SBEs receive National DECA Gold Level Certification

GAINESVILLE - Two School-Based Enterprises (SBEs) at The Oaks at Lanier Charter Career Academy received DECA Gold Level Certification this year. <br /> <br /> Get Gifted earned this honor for the second year in a row and Design 360 received their first gold level award. The Flowery Branch High School Corner Café also received its first DECA Gold Level Certification this year. All three SBEs will be recognized at DECA's International Career Development Conference in Orlando at the end of April, where they will also compete in the SBE Academy Competition.<br /> <br /> Student interns, Gabrielle Smith and Melanie Zuluaga worked on the SBE certification manuals for LCCA with the assistance of advisors Joni Cochran and Mary Warren. Flowery Branch students Kimberly Nguyen and Makenna Murphy completed the SBE certification manual with the assistance of their advisor Carol Summer. <br /> <br /> School-based Enterprises are educational tools that helping to prepare students for the transition from school to work or college.
