COLUMBUS — The Dawson County girls won the Pacelli Christmas Tournament with a 57-21 victory over Hardaway Saturday in the finals.
The Lady Tigers (9-0) used their defense once again to spark an early run and then cruise the win.
Dawson County put on a display in the first quarter holding Hardaway scoreless and led 21-0 heading into the second quarter. The Lady Tigers put the game out of reach outscoring Hardaway 21-11 in the second quarter to lead 42-11 at halftime.
Karlie Bearden paced Dawson County with 13 points. Kaylee Sticker added 10 points, Ansley Costley had nine on three 3-pointers, Eliza Sillesky had seven, and Peytan Porter and Calli Watson had six points each for the Lady Tigers.
Dawson County next will travel to rival Pickens on Monday.
