COMMERCE - Tanger Outlets and Northridge Medical Center joined forces in October to produce a new fund-raising event called the Pink Partini Fashion Gala, and just recently they got together to present a check from the event proceeds to the Cancer Foundation of Northeast Georgia in the amount of $5,244.49. The fun event, which took place on October 1st at the Jefferson Civic Center, consisted of a cocktail hour, silent auction and fashion show!
“The event exceeded our expectations with the crowd filling the Jefferson Civic Center with guests eager to take part in the social interaction and come together for a very good cause,” said Kimberly Liebowitz, Executive Director for the Cancer Foundation of NE Georgia.
There was a great mix of people in attendance enjoying heavy hors d’ouerves and designer cocktails in keeping with the pink theme symbolizing breast cancer awareness. They also got a great look at fall fashions available at Tanger Outlet stores.
The fashion gala was made more special as five local ladies who have faced cancer took to the runway to show off their style. These special guest models received several standing ovations from the crowd and Mark Valentine, Tanger Outlets General Manager, presented each with a bouquet of pink roses at the conclusion of the event.
One lucky participant, Terri Parker, of Jefferson, GA, won the grand door prize which was a $500 Tanger Outlets Gift Card.
One-hundred percent of the event proceeds will go directly to cancer patients and their families through the Cancer Foundation of Northeast Georgia. The mission of the foundation is to alleviate the financial burden of cancer for eligible patients.
