Boys basketball: Banks Co. rolls over Chestatee to stay unbeaten

GAINESVILLE — Banks County stayed unbeaten with a 65-44 win Chestatee Friday on the road.

The game was close early with the Leopards (9-0) leading just 17-11 after the first quarter. But they blew the game open with a 19-5 second quarter for a 36-16 lead and then put things out of reach with 20-11 third quarter and a 56-27 lead.

Chestatee (0-8) outscored Banks County 17-9 in the fourth quarter but could get no closer. 

Zez Steeple paced Banks County with 18 points. Zac Orr had another double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Trevae Cain added 10 points.

Banks County next will travel to Hart Co on Saturday for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off.

Chestatee is off until taking on Flowery Branch on Dec. 28 in the first round of the Lanierland Tournament.
