CLARKESVILLE — The North Georgia Technical College Foundation recently received a check for $5,000 from detective agency Phillips and Associates Inc. in Toccoa, Ga., to be used for five $1,000 scholarships for students in the Criminal Justice Program at North Georgia Technical College.
“The Foundation is thrilled to receive this donation to help deserving students with documented financial need complete their Criminal Justice Program, graduate and advance in their chosen career,” said NGTC Director of Institutional Advancement Cynthia Brown. “Rick and Letha Phillips grew up in this area, and we appreciate their generosity and investment in our students and future of our community.”
“The donation by the Phillips Agency is a prime example of community leaders recognizing the importance of education and providing resources necessary for students to complete their education and be in a position to move ahead in their career,” said NGTC Foundation Board Chairman Dr. Michael Callahan. “This is a unique opportunity for students already committed to their chosen profession to access a $1,000 scholarship. We appreciate their generosity and look forward to helping our students change their lives and the future of our communities.”
The NGTC Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit organization whose board consists of volunteer community leaders from NGTC’s eight-county service area. The mission of the Foundation is to create awareness of the financial needs of the College and encourage donations of resources which are managed wisely to assure quality education for its students.
