Girls basketball: Big 2nd half propels Lady Tigers past Rabun Co.

TIGER — Dawson County outscored Rabun County 31-17 in the second half to rally for a 58-46 win Tuesday night in non-region girls basketball.

The Lady Tigers (4-0) trailed 29-27 at halftime but took a 42-40 into the fourth quarter. They blew it open with a 16-6 fourth quarter run.

Freshman Kaylee Sticker led Dawson County with 17 points. Haley Burgess added 12 on four 3-pointers and Karlie Bearden had 11 points for the Lady Tigers. Katelynn Simpson scored 10 points for Dawson County.

Rabun County fell to 2-2, with both losses coming Dawson County.

Dawson County next will play host to Chestatee on Friday. Rabun County will play host to Walhalla (S.C.) on Friday.
