TIGER — The Dawson County girls basketball team stayed unbeaten on the young season with a 69-56 victory over Rabun County Saturday.
The teams finished the first quarter tied before the Lady Tigers (2-0) began to pull away. Dawson County used a 19-13 second quarter for a 33-27 halftime lead and then pushed the lead to 50-40 heading into the fourth quarter.
Senior Katelynn Simpson paced Dawson County with 14 points. Karlie Bearden recorded a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double and Kaylee Sticker added 12 points for the Lady Tigers. Haley Burgess had nine points, Eliza Sillesky scored eight for Dawson County.
The Lady Tigers next will travel to Union County on Monday.
