Atlanta mayor, police plan briefing on airport security

By Associated Press

ATLANTA (AP) Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed and Atlanta airport officials plan an update on security measures being taken at the world's busiest airport following the attacks in Paris.

Reed said in a statement that he and airport leaders will conduct an 11 a.m. Monday briefing at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

Reed said representatives from the FBI and Atlanta police are also expected to attend.

Gunmen and suicide bombers killed more than 100 people and wounded about 350 in attacks at a stadium, concert hall and other spots around Paris Friday.

On Saturday, high tensions could be seen at airports across Europe.

A Paris-bound Air France jet was evacuated in Amsterdam after a threatening tweet; and a terminal at London's Gatwick Airport was shut down after a man was seen throwing away what looked like a gun.
