GAINESVILLE - Sandra Landergott is the featured artist whose work is now on view at Quinlan Visual Arts Center Mini Gallery located at Regions Center in Gainesville.

Landergott, a Gainesville resident, is an award winning artist and member of the National Association of Women Artists, the oldest art organization for women, founded in New York in 1889 (Mary Cassatt was a founding member).  Locally, she is also member of the Quinlan Visual Arts Center and The Georgia Art League.

Her work has been displayed in numerous galleries across the southeast, and she has painted in Florida, North Carolina, Georgia, Ireland, France and Italy.  Her art is in private collections throughout the United States, and Europe.

“Constellations” is a series of recent encaustic work by Landergott; on loan to the Regions Gallery in partnership with the Quinlan Visual Arts Center. This show is one of many that will feature emerging north Georgia artists in a small local gallery housed at the Regions Center at Jewell and Butler parkways.

Encaustic is a technique that dates back to the 5th century BC.   It is composed of beeswax and resin.
