GAINESVILLE — Now it’s time to get down to the real work at hand for area football teams.
The regular season ended with a bang Friday night with some fantastic finishes, and a few surprises as well, with 14 teams making it through to the playoffs, which begin next week.
In the northern Georgia brackets, Regions 5 and 8 and Region 6 and 7 will match up in the first round, with the higher seeded team playing host.
Here is a list of 13 of the 14 first round games set for next week (Commerce was ranked seventh in Class A Public rankings heading into the final week of the season. The Class A playoffs take the top 16 teams and will begin in two weeks):
