Suwanee adds to Trail and Bikeway System

SUWANEE — Suwanee City Council voted unanimously Tuesday to award a contract to Peach State Construction Company for the construction of Phase I of the Brushy Creek Greenway.

The project will connect sidewalks on Suwanee Dam Road to the Old Town Suwanee area around Main Street and Stonecypher Road. 

Peach State Construction Company agreed to a contract not to exceed $595,222 for the project.

“It’s another link in our sidewalk/trail/bike path network,” said Councilman Dick Goodman.

The project is a 10-foot wide multi-use sidewalk that is a Tier 1 project in the Downtown Suwanee Master Plan. 

Other Business:

-City Council awarded a contract for the renovation of the landscape medians along Peachtree Industrial Boulevard.

-City Council voted to grant $10,000 to the Suwanee Police for the purchase of five laser speed detection devices.

-City Council approved an Alcohol License for Los Baras Mexican Grill.
