FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — The USA South Athletic Conference has released the eighth Player of the Week listing for the fall with the Lady Lion soccer team sweeping all three weekly awards. Cassidy Reich earned both Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week while Michaela Gardner earned Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Reich has now taken Rookie of the Week honors in six of the eight weeks the conference has awarded weekly honors and has twice taken both Rookie and Player of the Week. The Defensive Player of the Week award marks the third of the season for Gardner who has allowed just five goals all season.

Reich scored all five goals for Piedmont over the weekend in a pair of wins over Ferrum and Greensboro. The freshman from Largo, Florida leads the team with 19 goals scored and is atop the USA South in goals scored along with three other statistical categories.

Gardner has earned all but one decision for the Lady Lions this season posting a 16-1-1 record in the goal. The senior from Stockbridge is leading the conference in goals-against average (0.30) and save percentage (.911).

The USA South Athletic Conference announces its weekly honor roll each Monday while the listing for golf is announced on Wednesdays. At least half of the teams in a sport must have competed within the previous week for honors to be awarded.
