DAHLONEGA — Irving Salgado knocked home a goal in the 78th minute and the Nighthawk defense would preserve the shutout as the University of North Georgia men's soccer team defeated Shorter, 1-0, on Tuesday evening at the UNG Soccer Complex.
The Nighthawks are unbeaten in their last four matches and improve to 4-8-2 overall on the season. Shorter falls to 5-8-1.
After a scoreless first half in which both teams collected six shots apiece, the UNG offense would press on all cylinders, outshooting the Hawks 16-3 after intermission.
Carl Ludwig Eriksson assisted Salgado's goal off of a corner kick.

-- North Georgia is unbeaten in its last four contests (3-0-1).
-- The goal was Salgado's first career tally.
-- North Georgia improves to 3-2-1 in home matches at the UNG Soccer Complex.
-- Victor Ohlin collected five saves as the senior goalie improved to 4-3-1 in between the pipes for UNG. It was his second shutout in the team's last three matches.
