CUMMING - Three people were arrested early Friday morning after a strong-armed robbery at a gas station in Forsyth County.
According to Forsyth County Sheriff's Deputy Epifanio Rodriguez, deputies responded to a robbery in progress call at the RaceTrac gas station just before 3 a.m.
"As he (the deputy) was arriving on scene, he saw two black males get inside of a vehicle, attempting to flee the scene," said Rodriguez. "As they saw the deputy, they attempted to flee and crashed into a building."
Rodriguez said the two suspects fled on foot. The deputies called for a K-9 unit and within three hours found three suspects: Brandon Frazier, 37, of Stone Mountain, Marquise Prater, 26, of Rex and Javan Dowls, 32, of Rex.
"Through our investigation we were able to determine that he (the third suspect) was involved in the robbery. There was only two in the vehicle when the officer arrived one scene, however through the investigation we were able to determine there was a third suspect involved."
All three suspects were booked into the Forsyth County Jail and face robbery charges.
Rodriguez said the suspects appeared to be after cash and cigarettes, though he was unsure of how much money or cigarettes were taken in the robbery.
