GAINESVILLE - What does a spoon full of sugar really do? It ties everyone over until the GTA’s November production of"Mary Poppins," the story of two mischievous children who have met their match in the enchanted nanny.

To find out how GTA (Gainesville Theatre Alliance) is working to make Mary fly through London, plan to attend the upcoming free Stage Tour on October 20 at 6:00pm at Brenau University's Hosch Theatre in the John S. Burd Center (429 Academy Street, Gainesville).

Mary Poppins director Jim Hammond will be present to discuss the challenges of doing a show with such a large cast and answer any questions.  In addition to Hammond, Barbara Hardwick will discuss creating choreography for such a classic score and Kevin Frazier will tell the audience how he brought 19th century London to Gainesville.

Mary Poppins opens on November 3 and runs through November 14.  While the Stage Tour is free, ticket prices for the production are $22-26 for adults, $20-24 seniors (65 and up), and $14-16 for students depending on seat location.  Patrons can select and purchase seats on the website, www.gainesvilleTHEATREalliance.org, or by calling the GTA Box Office at 678-717-3624, Monday through Friday from 10:00-4:00.
