Directed by John F. Spiegel, Piedmont's "Macbeth" is a modern twist on an old classic. While Shakespeare's Macbeth set out to conquer Scotland, this Macbeth has a new mission. Set in a modern day war zone, with Russia moving to seize the Ukraine, this production provides a glimpse into the real-world struggles of today, with realistic fights and the horrors of war.<br />

Determined to become king, the great Lord Macbeth is persuaded by his wife to kill one of his best friends who stands in his way to the throne. Once named king, paranoia sets in and starts to drive Macbeth and his wife mad. With a prophecy brewing that threatens everything Macbeth has worked for, he grows fearful of those around him, as another heir tries to seize the throne.
