GAINESVILLE - A record number of students from the Hall County School District (HCSD) for this year's state HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America Competition).<br />

More than 90 high schoolers from Chestatee, Flowery Branch, Johnson and West Hall qualified at the Region HOSA Competition recently and now will advance on to the State Level to be held in Athens on March 12-14. They competed against students from schools in a 22-county area. <br />

HOSA is the co-curricular student organization for students enrolled in healthcare science courses and pathways at the high school. Students have the opportunity to complete pathways in: Patient Care, Emergency Medical Responder, Allied Health & Medicine or Sports Medicine. After completion of their pathway, students may further their educational opportunity by completing an internship through Work-Based Learning.
