Girls basketball: Lady Falcons rout Apalachee, stay atop 8-AAAAA

BETHLEHEM -- Flowery Branch held Apalachee to just nine second half points en route to a 69-31 win in Region 8-AAAAA girls action Friday night.<br />

The Lady Falcons (17-3, 9-1 Region 8-AAAAA) kept a slim one-game atop the region standings with the win.<br />
<br />
Flowery Branch opened the game strong with a 25-10 lead after the first quarter. Apalachee (3-18, 2-8) pull within 33-22 by halftime.<br />
<br />
But the Lady Falcons blew the game open oustcoring the Lady Wildcats 16-5 in the third quarter and then put it out of reach with a 20-4 fourth quarter.<br />
<br />
Julianne Sutton had another big game for Flowery Branch with 19 points and 13 rebounds. Taniyah Worth added 15 points, seven rebounds, and three blocks and Lexie Sengkhammee had 13 points for the Lady Falcons.<br />
<br />
The Flowery Branch offense was efficient with 17 assists on 30 field goals. Defensively they had 19 steals.<br />
