Forsyth Co. hosting high school mock trial competition Jan. 30-31

CUMMING - Forsyth County is hosting a regional high school mock trial competition for the State Bar of Georgia on Friday, January 30 and Saturday, January 31. <br /> <br /> During the event, high school students will play the roles of attorneys and witnesses, with professional attorneys and judges serving as the presiding judges and evaluators. <br /> <br /> Approximately 120 area high school students will be competing, and 72 lawyers will be volunteering as evaluators. The event will be held at the Forsyth County Courthouse. The top three teams will advance to the district competition in Athens.<br /> <br /> The eight schools scheduled to participate are North Forsyth High School (Forsyth), Forsyth Central High School (Forsyth), West Forsyth High School (Forsyth), South Forsyth High School (Forsyth), Lambert High School (Forsyth), Milton High School (Milton), Cambridge High School (Milton), and Centennial High School (Roswell).<br /> <br /> Round 1 will be held Friday, January 30, beginning at 6:00 p.m. <br /> <br /> Round 2 will be held Saturday, January 31, beginning at 9:00 a.m. <br /> <br /> The final round is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. on January 31.<br /> <br /> The competition will be open to the public.
