More than 389K Georgians enrolled for health coverage through federal marketplace

ATLANTA (AP) -- Federal officials say more than 398,000 Georgians have enrolled for health coverage through the federally run insurance marketplace.<br /> <br /> U.S. Department of Health and Human Services officials said in a statement Wednesday that 398,781 Georgians had enrolled for coverage as of Jan. 9.<br /> <br /> Open enrollment began Nov. 15 and ends on Feb. 15. Burwell says those who don't enroll by then may have to wait until next year to select a plan. The deadline is Thursday for consumers looking for coverage to begin on Feb. 1.<br /> <br /> Health and Human Services officials say nearly 6.8 million people had selected a plan or were automatically re-enrolled since open enrollment began.
