Boys basketball: Johnson routs rival to stay unbeaten

OAKWOOD -- Class AAAA No. 2 Johnson outscored West Hall 40-17 in the first half and then cruised to a 69-41 win Saturday in the first installment of the Battle of Oakwood Saturday.<br />

The Knights (15-0) led just 14-9 after the first quarter but exploded for 26 points in the second quarter to take control.<br />
<br />
Rod English had a big game for Johnson with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Ty Cockfield added 17 points for the Knights.<br />
<br />
West Hall was not able to get closer than the final score.<br />
<br />
Ashun Favorite paced the Spartans (2-12) with eight points.
