Girls basketball: Chestatee rebounds with win over Lumpkin

DAHLONEGA -- One day after a tough Region 8-AAAA loss, the Chestatee girls basketball team rebounded with a 60-40 win over Lumpkin County Saturday in non-region action.<br /> <br /> The game was close until the fourth quarter. Chestatee led 18-12 and the first and then took a 28-23 lead into halftime. The Lady War Eagles took a 39-33 lead into the fourth quarter but exploded for a 21-7 run in the fourth quarter to put the game away.<br /> <br /> Senior Tyler Bennett paced Chestatee with 20 points and five rebounds. Brooklyn Popham added 16 points and Macey Jarrard had six rebounds for the Lady War Eagles (10-7).<br /> <br /> Chestatee next will jump back into Region 8-AAAA action on Tuesday playing host to Monroe Area.
