GAINESVILLE - The Gainesville Walmart Neighborhood Markets, set to open later this month, will each employ about 95 people.
A Walmart spokeswoman also confirms that both stores - one on Thompson Bridge Road and one on Browns Bridge Road - are scheduled to open at 7:30 a.m. January 28.

She added that a "majority" of the employees will be full-time although she did not offer a breakdown between full-time and part-time.
The stores have been under construction for several months. The one on Thompson Bridge Road is just north of Enota Avenue on the site of the former Lanier Plaza Shopping Center. The one on Browns Bridge Road is part of the Lanier Commons Shopping Center and takes up space former held by another grocery outlet, Food Lion, and several smaller tenants.
