YOUNG HARRIS -- The North Georgia women's basketball team lead for over 39 of 40 minutes in Monday night's Peach Belt contest against rival Young Harris (4-7, 1-3 PBC), claiming a 71-58 victory. The Battle of Blood Mountain win advances the Nighthawks to 11-2 on the season and 3-1 in conference action.<br />

Molly Rainwater paced the Nighthawks with 23 points, aided by a 7-for-13 night from the perimeter. Cierra Jackson posted her second double-double of the season with 13 points and 11 rebounds.<br />

Neither team shot particularly well on the evening with UNG shooting 27.1 percent from the field on the night and the Mountain Lions were just slightly better at 27.7 percent on field goals.<br />

North Georgia took its largest lead of the night at the 5:38 mark with a 20-point advantage, 64-44. Young Harris would go on a 12-0 run starting at the 5:31 mark, but Huffman would end it with a pair of free throws at 2:22 and UNG never looked back.<br />

The Nighthawks will continue the marathon week, traveling to Augusta on Wednesday to take on Georgia Regents with tipoff set for 5:30 p.m.
