GAINESVILLE -- North Hall had balanced scoring with four players in double figures and held off a scrappy Lanier team 58-55 Friday night at home.<br />

The Trojans (8-6) coming off a disappointing seventh-place finish at Lanierland, used a big second quarter run to open up a 36-28 halftime lead after leading just 13-12 at the end of the first quarter. Lanier (5-7) closed the gap to 47-41 heading into the fourth quarter but could get no closer.<br />

Brock Wingo finished with 16 points to lead North Hall. Carson Heinen added 12 points, Sam Jackson 11, and Evan easton 10 for the Trojans.<br />

Chris Parks had a game-high 18 points to lead the Longhorns. Adrian Martin added 14 points for Lanier.<br />
<br />
North Hall will open Region 8-AAAA play Saturday against rival White County at home. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
