GAINESVILLE -- Johnson fought back from a 7-0 deficit to post a 16-7 win over Riverside Military and nab its first victory of the campaign on Friday in Gainesville.

Knights (1-5) running back Jesse Griggs carried the ball 27 times for 97 yards and a touchdown -- his score icing the game with 6:06 remaining.

The Eagles (1-3) took a 7-0 lead in the first quarter on a 69-yard touchdown pass from Hunter Sims to Tarik Holmes, but it was the last time Riverside found paydirt.

Isaac Henry got the Knights on the board with a 25-yard field goal early in the second quarter before Orion Pittman hauled in a 46-yard touchdown pass from Chase Sims to take a 9-7 advantage late in the third quarter.
Johnson will take a bye next week before playing host to Osborne on Oct. 10.
Riverside travels to Strong Rock Christian next week.
