GAINESVILLE - At least one person had contact recently with a beaver in North Hall that turned out to be rabid.<br />

Hall County Animal Control says the incident occurred in the Looper Lake Point area. Animal control officials were told Wednesday that the animal, whose body had been sent to the Georgia Public Health Lab-Virology Section in Decatur, was rabid.<br />

This is the 15th confirmed case of rabies in Hall County this year.<br />

Rabies alert signs are being posted in the area where the incident occurred and county officials ask that the public be on the lookout for animals acting abnormally and to report any that you see to Hall County Animal Services.
