GAINESVILLE - Hall County Fire Marshal Scott Cagle has been elected to a top office with the Georgia Association of Fire Chiefs (GAFC). <br />

Cagle was named District Vice President of Area 1, which is comprised of 24 counties and 119 fire departments in northeast Georgia. He was elected to the post during the recent 2014 Georgia Fire Service Conference in Macon. <br />

''I'd like to commend Chief Cagle on this honor,'' Hall County Fire Chief Jeff Hood said. ''Hall County Fire Services benefits greatly from his leadership and expertise, and now a broader audience will benefit from those admirable qualities in this new role.''<br />

Cagle has worked for Hall County Fire Services for about 22 years. In addition to fire marshal, he also serves as Chief of Planning and Preparedness.
