Softball: Lady Wolves finish perfect 5-0 week with pair of wins in Elite Sports Classic tourney

SUWANEE -- The Buford girls softball team completed a five-games-in-five-days stretch Saturday with two wins at the Elite Sports Classic tournament at North Gwinnett High School.<br /> <br /> Buford whipped Jones County 8-0 in five innings in the first game behind a three-hit shutout from Kennedy Kotula. Jordan Deep had a two-run triple and Breanna Gutierrez added a two-run home run in the victory.<br /> <br /> The Class AAAA No. 1-ranked Lady Wolves (22-1) then beat Northgate 9-2 in the second game.<br /> <br /> Senior Bria Bush (10-0) went the distance in the circle yielding six hits and two runs while striking out six to get the win.<br /> <br /> Samantha Thomas had three hits, including a two-run home run, to pace the offense.<br /> <br /> Buford next will play host to Etowah on Monday.
